Foods
- Had a very healthy diet
- Kept goats for meats and cheese
- Grew all kinds of vegetables
- People on the coastline used boats and nets to catch seafood. Then they would trade some of their goods for inland food.
- Some homes kept chickens
- Most places you can by meat at cooking shops
- Cooked very clean
- Also finds baked goods and other foods ready to go in shops for a certain price
- Some wealthier families bought their clothes, but most families made their own.
- Used wool for winter wear, and linen for summer fabric.
- Believed in many gods.
- Began to believe in Roman gods but they changed their names
- Ex. Zeus=Jupiter.
- Excelled in Drama, the art of theatre
- Men played all the characters in theatre, no matter what part
- Plays were often competitions that lasted for days
- sports- The Greeks often held athletic events to honor gods.
- Horse and chariot racing and footraces were some of the events.
- Also, there were combat sports like boxing and wrestling.
- Winners were crowned and were given pots of olive oil.
